Candle Colours
We all have an understanding of the meanings of colours that fill our lives due to our cultural heritage. This is reflected in sayings such as "she is feeling blue" or "he saw red". Although every culture has it's own meanings and traditions when it comes to colour, they are often similar for example where ever you are the sky is blue and the sky is black at night.
Burning candles is an ancient magical art. As we light a candle it stirs something deep within us and creates a certain atmosphere. We have candles on a cake to celebrate birthdays and many people light a candle in memory of a departed loved one.
There is many books and articles that I have read on candle colours, there is no hard and fast rules. I have personally found that the colour that you are attracted to is usually the colour you need at the time.
BLACK: Repel or releasing negativity, banishing and releasing guilt, mourning, loss, protection, divination, the subconscious, can represent all colours.
WHITE: Purity, truth, greater accomplishments in life, protection, spirituality, wholeness, sincerity, new beginnings, clear vision and ideas, contacting spirit guides and Angels, can represent all colours.
RED:
Vitality, virility, strength, lust, energy, health, courage,willpower, conquering fear, passion, fertility, sudden change,love of a passionate nature, magnetism.ORANGE:
Creativity, attraction, control, power, encouragement, adaptability, to draw good things into your life, happiness, harmony, health, prosperity, success, good luck, enjoyment.YELLOW:
Confidence, charm, concentration, intellect, imagination, inspiration, healing, persuasion, clarity, focus, memory, communication, logic.GREEN:
Prosperity, healing, growth, abundance, fertility, money, generosity, luck, success, renewal, balance, health, friendship, stability.BLUE:
Protection, peace, truth, tranquility, inspiration, wisdom, understanding, harmony in the home, patience, emotions, justice.PURPLE: Psychic abilities, wisdom, enchantment, spirituality, progress, protection, spirit contact, divination, drive away evil, subconscious, meditation, awareness of higher realms.
